About Longtailo
Longtailo is a small piece of software for the person who decides which search queries their pages will go after. In-house at a small business, a freelance consultant with a few clients, a small agency doing the work rather than selling it, or somebody running a site of their own. It assumes you already get keyword numbers from somewhere and that the hard part is what to do with them.
Why this site exists
This site exists because the tooling in this trade sells data and leaves the decision to you. Everybody can get a list of queries with a volume beside each one; almost nobody can say which of them is worth a week of writing, which three are the same page, and whether the page they published last quarter actually moved. Those are arithmetic and record-keeping, not data problems, and they get done in a spreadsheet that is rebuilt every time somebody new looks at it. Longtailo does the arithmetic on your own numbers and keeps the record, and it deliberately holds no keyword database of its own, because a second-rate index sold beside a decision is how this category talks people into paying for numbers they already have.
Who it is for
The person who picks the queries and then writes or commissions the page: a list of a few dozen to a few thousand keywords, numbers pulled from Search Console or a keyword tool, and no dedicated SEO team behind them.
Not somebody hiring an SEO agency, not a marketplace seller researching products, not an author picking book keywords, not a video creator, and not an ad buyer building a bid list.
What it does not do
- No keyword database and no rank crawler: every volume, difficulty and position here is one you entered, from a source you chose
- No promise that a page will rank, and no traffic guarantee: the worksheet prices a possibility, it does not forecast an outcome
- No paid placement: nobody pays to be named or ranked on this site, and where tools are ranked the reason is written next to each one
- No lead selling: an enquiry sent here is answered here, and never passed to a vendor, a broker or a lead buyer
